Micro-Projects - International Development

From time to time certain initiatives are identified by in-country Project co-ordinators, our volunteers, or by ourselves that may be of benefit to the Project or host community in which we operate.

We call these initiatives micro-projects because they usuall operate within an existing Project such as an Orphanage or Nursery.

The ultimate goal of a micro-project is to increase the infrastructure, efficiency and/or capacity of an existing Project.

We provide support and assistance to help these initiatives become beneficial, working realities.

Forms of support include:

  • Financial - using donations from volunteers and other donors
  • Organisational - using our network of contacts and other resources
  • Manual - providing trained volunteers to meet the Projects needs

Below are micro-projects that we are currently supporting.

If you would like to help us support these initiatives just visit our Donate/Sponsor page and make a donation.

We will issue you with a 'Certificate Of Recognition And Thanks' and keep you updated on the progress of the micro-project.

Commencement of Micro-Project: Spring 2011

Completed: Autumn 2011

Current Status: Completed (see images here)

Overview:

KCOS provides pre-school level education and day-care to almost 320 local children who otherwise might not receive it. Classes start at 9 AM and the children stay to play and learn with their teachers and volunteers until early afternoon...this affords the mothers time to work or study. • Providing food for the 320 children
  • Reduced overhead due to inefficient current cooking methods
